Te Papa Meccano Display 2012

The second "Slice of Heaven" Meccano display at Te Papa Museum Wellington

This exhibition took place in the 1st floor foyer over the Easter weekend for 3 days from Saturday 7th to Monday 9th April 2012. NZFMM members from around North Island gathered together to again put on a superb show in this prestige location. This invitation was extended to NZFMM members after the success of the inaugural Meccano display held at the same venue over 2 days during November 2010 when in excess of 10500 visitors passed through the site. This time around over 17500 visitors attended over the 3 days of the display, the increased numbers per day probably due to the Easter weekend and the start of the school holidays.

Many international visitors passed through individualy or in groups as Te Papa museum is one of Wellington's prime tourist attractions. A variety of models were on display from small to very large as well as some tables available for children of all ages to try their hand at model building and get their hands around using nuts and bolts with a screwdriver.
